Arcane mage spell rotation
Several comments made by several mages who posted on the official world of warcraft forums.

I raid with an all arcane build. My spell cycle prior to haste gear as AB -> AM -> AB repeat for increased mana efficiency. With mage armor and arcane meditation, in raid I generate 200 mana per second while casting, so even with the increased cost of arcane it balances out. If you've extra mana left over near the end of the fight, double or triple your AB between AMs. With enough haste gear, I can work in AB -> AM -> (scorch or fireblast)-> AB repeat.

That's some pretty aweful lag if you can't fit that scorch or fireblast in. Or you click..... ABx2, AM, scorch, repeat is the basic efficient rotation. To up your dps use three or more arcane blasts between each AM-scorch. Although it is very trying on your mana pool, going full AB spam when AP is up leads to a MASSIVE dps spike, but it's very difficult to sustain your mana pool after using AP. However, if you don't have two piece t5 you are pretty much wasting your time.

3x AB --> AM --> scorch .........................default spell rotation However, the rotation should be adjusted on the fly depending on your situation. If you have a shadow priest in the group try 4x or 5x ABs instead of 3. If mana is running low switch down to 2xAB. If its a short trash fight just use pure AB spam. Boss target's health is getting low and you still have high mana? AP +AB spam.
and another post of Mystwind:
Q u o t e:Why is Scorch included in the rotation? I mean, why not a fireball or something else instead? This is a serious question heh.
Your main dps is coming from AB. What comes between the ABs is "filler". The goal of the filler is to have it last just long enough so that the 8 second AB debuff is almost, but not quite expired. That way when you start the next cycle of ABs the first one gets the 1.5 second full stacked cast, but at the unstacked mana cost. AM + scorch = just the right amount of filler AM + fireball = 8 seconds. This is too long. By the time your next rotation starts the AB debuff will be gone and the first AB in the rotation will take 2.5 seconds instead of 1.5 seconds to cast. It will cost you a second out of every rotation.
comments are welcome...
